I was happily surprised when I walked in. It is an old very authentic chinese-american restaurant complete with the local cowboys. Good food and great service. The you lady that serves never stops moving and takes care of everyone.

The closest Chinese. food that is always going to be hot and fresh .No matter what time or day is. Wish they deliver to JohnDay!--LOL

Must stop if your passing through! This place has great prices for the amount of food you get it was delicious! The lady who served us very polite and super awesome gave us some soup and tea for free while we waited for food. This was a great pit stop. Animal owners theres a park 2.3 miles away where you can sit in the shade and eat your delicious food!! 😁

Nice people, fast service, okay food. OVERPRICED. I wish I could support this place but I can't afford $9.50 for one 16oz takeout carton of chicken fried rice.

They always have good food. It is always hot and fresh. The staff are always very friendly. They take the time to interact with customers. We eat there sometimes twice a week and we will be customers for a long time.

Excellent service. Very poor meal. Sweet & sour ribs were tough and tasted like bone marrow.

Ordered a seafood dish with shrimp and the shrimp was moldy. When I informed the owner she only wanted to give me a 2.00 discount. I won't be taking my family back

The cook and staff are absolutely amazing! The food is equally amazing.

Wouldn’t even consider this real Chinese. The general tso chicken tasted like plastic coated in sugar and the tofu tasted like rubber. Broccoli was the only thing I would consume. Got both meals to go and gave it to a homeless person. I think whoever thinks this place is good has probably never left the town of Burns.

What a cute little mom and pop Chinese restaurant! Everything about this place was awesome from the waitress/owner to the absolutely amazing food! The atmosphere of the place was so warm and inviting. I recommend to anyone traveling through Burns, Oregon.

It's a good place to go if you want a quick bite of Chinese.

My family stops at every Chinese restaurant we see when traveling and to this day this is hands down the best one in Oregon. The prices are amazing and the owners are super friendly and are fun and interactive. The only place to come close to it was the Emperor in Eugene Oregon.

Driving into Burns Oregon and staying the night you quickly realize the restaurant choices are slim. The Hilander was one of the higher rated choices, we went for it and were not disappointed. Service was fast & friendly, as were the locals sitting across from us! The food was great, made fresh, classic Chinese. We asked our server how long the restaurant had been there, at least 40-45 years! We highly recommended the Highlander in Burns Oregon.

It was good for there being not much else around but it was extremely underwhelming and overly oily. Probably wouldn’t go there again but it could have been a lot worst.

One star is being generous. If you have ever had good Chinese food you would know this is not. The waitress was rude and knows nothing about customer service.

Highly recommend if you like authentic Asian food. Very good food with a large menu to choose from. Pleasant staff that works hard to keep the place very clean. Nice local customers. Beer offered at reasonable price. Food very reasonably priced and lots of it! Good egg flour soup offered, prior to meal being served... very good!

Not a fan, my broccoli beef was good although others in my group hardly touched theirs.. Make sure to request soup if your meal comes with it.. staff was slow and overwhelmed but the food was hot and fresh

Sometimes the food is awesome, sometimes not so much. Doris is a friendly, attentive waitress. You can count on her for great service!

Well I can't give zero stars so I'll stick with one. They sat us down at a table and gave us some menus. No one ever came back to ask what we want for drinks, or what we wanted for dinner. Instead the two people they had working out front were helping and checking in people who were already eating their food. A person walks in saying I'll be back with a party in ten minutes, and the lady says she will drop everything so she can go and clear that table, all the while my family has still never been helped. So, we close the menus and leave. As we are leaving we hear, "No, the table of four just left!" Hmm, I wonder freaking why? We never got helped at all! Never going back.

Food is delicious the owners are very friendly definitely a nice place to have lunch and or dinner!!

Good food. Normally has really good service. This time didn't get items asked for and waited too long to pay check. Hopefully just an off day.

Not even deserving of a one star. My son ordered sweet and sour chicken. He had to send it back because he found a piece of wire brush in his chicken batter. My husband then found a eyelash length piece of something in his chow mein. They didnt even offer to give us a discount. Will never stop by there as we pass through or recommend to others as they are going through.
